OUR CULTURE

Our culture makes us distinctive and unique. It is our DNA! You can tell who we are by learning what we value. These statements are foundational principles for our lives and ministries.

We are worshippers.

Heaven is loud. Expressive worship is not cultural, denominational, or emotional; it’s biblical. God is very clear in scripture how He desires to be worshipped. Therefore, we throw off our dignity and preference and offer sacrificial, costly offerings to the only One worthy. (Psalm 100, Psalm 150, John 4:23-24)

We are unified.

We are diverse but members of one Body, united for purpose and function. Our oneness of mind and mission reflects God’s glory and makes us an envy of the world. Offenses are inevitable; being offended is a choice. (Psalm 133, John 17:20-23, Phil. 2:1-4)

We are growers.

Disciples are learners. The Holy Spirit is our guide and instructor. He also empowers teachers for our equipping and perfecting. We refuse to be stagnant and stationary. We are diligent and intentional about our spiritual nourishment and formation. All healthy things grow! (2 Cor. 3:18, Eph. 4:20-24, Col. 3:10-11)

We are passionate.

How we do what we do is as important as what we do. Anything that is worth doing is worth doing with your whole heart. Our God is too good, and our assignment is too important to live without enthusiasm and urgency. Passion is contagious! (Col. 3:23, John 2:17)

We are messengers.

It would be cruel to have the antidote and not share it with the sick. Evangelism is not reserved for an elite group; it is the lifestyle and mission of every believer. We are not forceful or coercive. We are not salesmen or peddlers. We simply tell the story, the good news of Jesus Christ. This Gospel saves! (Matt. 28:18-20, 2 Cor. 5:18-21)

We are servers.

We walk into every environment looking for an opportunity to serve and not expecting to be served. Service is love in action. We serve what we love; God’s house, His people, and our community. We believe the greatest leadership is serving others. If we are too big to serve, we are too small to lead. (Phil. 2:3-8, Mark 10:45, Psalm 100:2)

We are at rest.

Our pace is set by the impulsion of the Holy Spirit. We are not driven, ambitious, or obligated. We are not directed by causes, agendas, or fads. We are led! We serve with rhythm and a deep conviction of priority. Rest keeps us healthy and ensures we will finish well! (Rom. 8:14, Phil. 1:6, Heb. 4:9)

We are stewards.

We own nothing. Everything is loaned to us from God to be used for His purpose and desire. Therefore, we manage our time, resources, and talents as those who will give an account. His nature and will is abundant and generous so we live like our needs are met and we give like He is our provider. (1 Cor. 4:2, Matt. 25:14-30, Phil. 4:19)
